Best Pavement Management Consultant 2008

MTC_Award NCE was recently honored to receive the "Best Pavement Management Consultant 2008" award from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. MTC grants the annual award to the firm that best demonstrates the commitment and expertise to improving pavement management practices. NCE has been a longtime partner and consultant to MTC, furnishing Pavement Management Program Implementation to over 75 agencies in and around the Bay Area since 1994. NCE’s staff also provides training and hotline support to the agencies.

Sam Yang joins the NCE Team

Sam_Yang NCE is pleased to welcome Shih-Hsien "Sam" Yang, Ph.D., who joined our Richmond office as a Project Engineer. Dr. Yang is a recent graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Ph.D. in Civil Engineering) and earned his M.S. at Virginia Tech. He is a member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Pavement Preservation Committee and the American Society of Civil Engineers. He was awarded the D. Grant Mickle Award for the best paper in Operations & Maintenance at TRB in 2007. Dr. Yang’s areas of specialty include highway and airport pavement design, analysis, preservation, and rehabilitation techniques, pavement management systems, geosynthetic material design, asphalt material characterization, advanced pavement modeling, slope and embankment stabilization, and geosynthetic reinforced retaining wall design.

Christine Kirick is welcomed to the NCE Reno office

CKirick Christine Kirick joins our Reno office as a Project Engineer in the Infrastructure Group. Ms. Kirick is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, earning her Masters degree in Hydrology. She attended Bucknell University where she did her undergraduate work in Environmental Studies and Geology. Ms. Kirick is a registered Professional Engineer in Nevada and holds an American Institute of Hydrology Professional Hydrologist certification. She has extensive experience in projects relating to water resources, storm water management, and floodplain management.
