Pavement Engineering
PREPARED FOR THE ROAD AHEAD
Pavement networks are often the most valuable assets that many agencies have. These assets are not only expensive to replace, but are an essential component of the state, county or city's economic health. Because pavement maintenance and rehabilitation costs are rising faster than budgets, agencies must find more efficient ways to perform maintenance and rehabilitation. Pavement management systems help the pavement engineer make informed decisions and apply maintenance and rehabilitation dollars where they are most needed.
NCE has developed a staff of experienced pavement management specialists to help agencies implement, update and operate pavement management systems and to develop reasonable maintenance and rehabilitation programs.
City of Fremont's Asphalt Concrete Overlay Programs
Nichols Consulting Engineers, Chtd. performed engineering and design services for the City of Fremont’s Asphalt Concrete Overlay Programs. NCE performed non-destructive pavement deflection testing, detailed pavement condition surveys, and geotechnical work to evaluate existing pavement conditions, and to recommend suitable resurfacing and rehabilitation alternatives.
