Bently Biofueling Station

The facility includes fueling islands for dispensing several blends of bio-diesel and of ethanol as well as having a 3,500 sq ft convenience store. The project followed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification process that promotes sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality. The site includes both asphalt concrete and portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement sections designed for heavy truck traffic. Extensive use of PCC pavement to reduce “heat island effect” resulted in obtaining valuable LEED credits. Drainage features include best available technology (BAT) treatment devices for removal of pollutants from runoff from the paved areas and on-site infiltration of run-off.
