Public Works Project Award Goes to Rifle Range Road Retaining Wall
The City of Richmond’s Rifle Range Road Retaining Wall Project received a 2019 Project of the Year Award by the Norcal chapter of the APWA. A landslide destroyed a 50-foot section of Rifle Range Road in February 2017, which blocked critical access for residents and threatened open space and habitat. The City retained NCE to stabilize the landslide and reopen the roadway. The project was completed in a very short time frame and the remaining roadway continued to provide critical access for residents. In addition, the project used recycled materials to comply with Caltrans Standard Specifications and met Buy America requirements.
