University of Nevada Reno │ Thompson-Frandsen Corridor Utility Assessment

University of Nevada - Reno

Project Description

NCE revitalized the corridor between the Thompson and Frandsen buildings on the UNR campus to provide safe paths for students and meet ADA requirements. This project included both assessing the condition of existing underground utilities at the site and redesigning the corridor. NCE used on-the-ground reconnaissance and research of historic building and utility plans to locate and evaluate water and sewer lines, and prepared a topographic base map to be used in support of planning for the reimagined space. The corridor now features new utilities and irrigation, plantings and furnishings, pedestrian site lighting, and decorative paving designed to support the loads of emergency vehicles.
