The ASCE’s Sacramento chapter named the Bijou Area Erosion Control Project, Phase I, as its 2014 Stormwater Project of the Year. In addition, the Truckee Meadows Branch selected it as the Environmental Project of the Year. The project substantially improved stormwater quality by separating Bijou Creek flows from stormwater generated within the Bijou commercial core in the City of South Lake Tahoe.

NCE conducted construction management and communications for the project, serving as a single point of contact for the City. In addition, NCE provided biological services to ensure the project protected sensitive species and complied with the requirements of numerous local, state, and federal permitting agencies.
