NCE’s leading-edge applied research on continuously reinforced concrete pavement
work was showcased at the Transportation Research Board’s 99th Annual Meeting in Washington D.C. in January. The poster presentation, titled Assessment of California’s Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP) Practice and Performance, showed that Caltrans’ CRCP practice aligns with nationally recommended best practices and provided several ways for Caltrans to enhance specifications. The findings were well-received by the audience, a testament to the importance of applied research. The technical paper – authored by Dr. Jeff Stempihar, Nick Weitzel, Dr. Thomas Van Dam, Dr. Linda Pierce, and others – has also been accepted for publication in the Transportation Research Record.
